F. Braun demonstrates that broadsword moves are almost identical to katana moves. A human body is a human body all over the world. So it's no surprise different cultures developed the same cuts.

 

Here you can clearly see the Kronos Sword prototype. It was originally intended to look like a viking mask when held blade down.
